THIS SITE IS AN ABBREVIATED VISUAL ARCHIVE OF MY OIL PAINTINGS

The paintings on this site span the past 48 years. The purpose of this site is to document the chronological progression of my art. While much of my recent work is available, most of the earlier work is intended for historical reference, and is no longer available. The pages on this site divide the art into easily viewable categories. The images shown on this site are a representative cross-section of my work. Over time I've undergone many transitions with my art. A dramatic change came in 2006 when I changed from depicting realistic scenes to creating non-realistic compositions.

I'm primarily an oil painter, although I occasionally work in other mediums. I credit my career to my dear, long-departed Aunt Libby, who taught me to oil paint when I was four. Like her, I've painted my way through life.

The earliest painting shown on this site dates from 1976, three years after I completed art school. However, most of the artwork on this site was completed after 1980, when I moved from California to New Mexico. During those early years as an artist, my primary goal was to establish a clear and meaningful direction for my art. The following pages visually document the winding path taken on my constantly evolving vision quest.
